The term TOURMALINE is derived from the Sinhalese "tōramalli", Brightly colored Ceylonese gem tourmalines were brought to Europe in great quantities by the Dutch East India Company to satisfy a demand for curiosities and gems. Parti-colored tourmaline displays more than one color. One of the most common combinations is green and pink, but many others are possible.
