Natural Lavender Jadeite Jade Boulder – 2.5 kg – Burma (Myanmar)
A large and unusual natural lavender-colored jadeite jade boulder from Burma (Myanmar), weighing approximately 2.5 kilograms / 12,500 carats.
This is a substantial piece of rough jadeite intended for serious jade collectors, carvers, lapidaries, and buyers interested in large Burmese rough material. The boulder retains its natural weathered outer skin, while an exposed/windowed section reveals the attractive lavender to soft violet-pink jadeite beneath.
The lavender coloration is particularly interesting under strong transmitted light. As shown in the photographs, a powerful torch reveals light passing through the exposed lavender area, allowing the color and internal character of the material to be examined more clearly. The degree of translucency can vary naturally throughout a jadeite boulder, so the entire boulder should not be assumed to have uniform translucency.

Why this piece is interesting
Large pieces of natural Burmese jadeite rough are particularly interesting because the final value and appearance can only be fully understood after examining the internal color distribution, texture and translucency. The natural outer skin does not reveal the complete interior, which is one of the defining characteristics of jadeite rough.
This boulder displays a distinct lavender zone beneath the natural skin, rather than simply being uniformly colored throughout. The strong contrast between the weathered orange-brown exterior and the lavender interior makes the exposed section particularly useful for evaluating the material.
The torch photograph is also important: transmitted light shows that at least part of the exposed lavender material allows light to pass through. This can help a prospective buyer evaluate the internal character before deciding whether to further open, slice, cabochon-cut, or carve the material.
Lavender is a recognized color variety of jadeite jade. In Burmese lavender jadeite, GIA research has associated the lavender coloration primarily with manganese-related absorption.
Suitable for
This is not simply a small lapidary specimen. At approximately 2.5 kg, it offers substantial material for:
• Jade collectors
• Rough jadeite dealers
• Professional jade carvers
• Lapidary artists
• Cabochon and carving production
• Large decorative objects
• Buyers interested in Burmese jadeite rough
• Further cutting and internal color exploration
Important: Because this is a natural rough boulder, the final color, translucency, texture, inclusions and usable yield may vary considerably from one area to another. Cutting or opening additional sections is entirely at the buyer's discretion.
